This cabin was built by myself and a friend for a client who wanted a unique design to fit in their water meadow next to the river Avon in Wiltshire.
The design itself incorporates reclaimed materials (zinc roofing panels, decking, and frame/joist material), and modern conveniences such as a solar powered electricity supply and ecodesign stove.

The cabin also had to be moveable, so some repurposed van axels on an RSJ subframe allow for a sturdy yet non-permanent base. On top of the subframe, a wooden frame makes up the floor and wall cavities, on top of which sits a mild steel curved roof frame. All of the external wall surfaces are clad in responsibly sourced Siberian larch cladding. I made the roof out of reclaimed zinc panels aluminium angle edge trimming, peen curved to fit the roof curvature. Custom double glazed windows and doors were made entirely by myself, the frames and door being fabricated out of mild steel box and bar section, painted to be weather proof.
